Affordable and Accessible Healthcare

Where you live should not determine whether you live. Every West Virginian deserves access to quality healthcare close to home, and the workers who serve our communities deserve reliable healthcare they can count on.

Hospitals and clinics across rural West Virginia are closing or cutting services. Long travel times for basic care, provider shortages, and rising costs mean that too many families delay treatment until problems become emergencies. At the same time, the instability surrounding PEIA has created uncertainty for teachers, state employees, and retirees who depend on it for their healthcare.

My Plan

  •  Protect rural hospitals and expand incentives to keep healthcare providers in underserved communities.

  • Strengthen telehealth access and expand rural clinic networks.

  • Prioritize long-term stability for PEIA so the teachers, public employees, and retirees who serve our communities can depend on affordable healthcare.

How We Can Get There

Strengthen state support for rural healthcare providers, pursue federal rural health grants, and work toward long-term funding solutions that stabilize PEIA and protect healthcare access for both rural communities and public employees.
